Dunlop Volley is a proud to be the official sponsors of the international Portable Film Festival, launching worldwide from Melbourne this September.
Portable film is the latest in technology, capitalising on the popularity of portable video devices such as iPod videos, Sony Playstation Portables and 3G compatible mobile phones. The Portable Film Festival will present 70 pre-selected films from 13 countries all over the world, available on www.portablefilmfestival.com. As part of our sponsorship we have designed a limited edition Volley/ Portable Film Festival T-Shirt that will be worn all event staff and film makers.
Festival organisers have attributed the festival’s inspiration to the rapid growth of online video content and the world’s new obsession with portable media players. The portable device, such as the crazily popular iPod video, has initiated a major shift in media consumption, which is now being catered for with the advent of the Portable Film Festival.
Subscribers are welcome to download, vote on, review and rate the videos available on the website, which will then be collated to determine the winners of the Filmmakers’ Peer Review award and the Myspace & Portable Film Festival Viewers’ Choice award. The website will also include discussion boards and other interactive activities, all of which are a great way to showcase Volley’s prominence as an up-and-coming, street-credible brand of today.
